Scoping a new experience for a niche scientific community site

User Experience Design / Workshops / Responsive & Mobile Design

Publisher, Future Science Group, engaged with us to carry out a discovery project to fully scope a rebuild of its niche scientific community site, and it's CMS.

Working with the team at Bioanalysiszone we assessed the site's key objectives and reviewed it's current CMS to highlight flaws and inefficiencies that impacted the business. The front end was reviewed and the client undertook user research which uncovered the need for new content, site organisation and a basic taxonomy to underpin the site.

I produced a discovery document highlighting key research findings which included CMS and front end requirements, wireframes and a technical review analysing platform suitability (WordPress vs Drupal). I produced a fully responsive prototype to reflect the design decisions made during the discovery phase.
